Avacado is a Fruit

Adelyn had her first non-cereal food this morning. We gave her avacado, which she seemed to enjoy. She was squealing for more so we assume so. I realize now though that we broke 'the rule' as to introduce veggies and then fruit as avacado is a fruit not a veggie. Well, it seems more like a veggie so maybe she won't know the difference. I was thinking of sweet potato next--that's a veggie right? So, if all goes well, she should be able to enjoy some avacado, sweet potato and tasty rice cereal during the Christmas feast. (maybe not all at once but I'm sure we'll be eating leftovers more then once :)

6 Month Check Up

Adelyn had her 6 month check up today. The Dr. said she is growing perfectly. No magic potion for sleeping through the night but we brought the little angel home anyway :) She took the four shots in stride and even gave the nurse a smile before she left the room. Below are her 'stats'.
Height: A Shaq rivaling 26 1/2 inches = 75th percentile
Weight: A tiny 13lb 11 1/2 oz = 10th percentile
Head: 42 cm (I think) = 50th percentile

"Yo, what up?"

Belated Thank You!

This past weekend my mom, sister and Nick watched Adelyn overnight while Jon and I partied in Minneapolis. We were able to go out to a nice dinner, watch some of the Holidazle parade, stay up late, and sleep uninterupted! It was a wonderful time for us and for Adelyn. She was well taken care of. From what we here she had an evening full of hugs, kisses, and shopping. What more can a girl want? Thanks for a wonderful b-day gift!

Grandma wanted Adelyn to open a present early so they could play with it on Saturday

Even Murphy was well taken care of--I swear this photo has not been posed. He really went to sleep like this!

Wild Win in Shoot Out

We took Adelyn to her first Wild hockey game last night. It was freezing out, so Jon kindly dropped us ladies off at the door. I must say that was a nice perk! It was a close game and the Wild ended up winning in a shoot out. For the most part Adelyn had a great time. She managed to drop all of her toys and pacifier in the gross pop puddle under our seats, but Jon was able to clean them up in the mens room between periods. She only cried once when someone cheered, otherwise she was entertained by all of the commotion. I got to use up all my daily 8000 words (or whatever the number is) chatting with Lynn the whole game. It was a fun night! Thanks to Steve and Lynn for the tickets!

Mary Poppins

Adelyn and I braved the cold and headed downtown to see the Mary Poppins display after class this morning. Grandma Bonnie and Chloe came as well. Chloe (the girl my mom nannies for) is the same age as Adelyn so we overheard a lot of people saying "ohh, look at the twins--one BOY and one girl." Since Chloe was in pink I am assuming they thought Adelyn was the boy. I know she's wearing a red sweater, but it has a big flower on it and so do her jeans. Come on people! At least they think she's a cute boy I guess :) The display is cute and got a lot of giggles from the girls.

1st Solid Food!

Don't I look too little to be 6 months old already!

"Say Aahhh"

Believe it or not our little peanut is 6 months old and ready to start solid food! We had the first taste test tonight and it was fun. Who knows how much food she actually ate, but she was a good sport. Dad did a great job at getting it into her mouth but she managed to sift through and spit most of it back out :) The plan is to try just the rice cereal for a few weeks and then we will start adding in the fruits and veggies. It seems a little overwhelming but like anything I'm sure once you get going its not too bad. Good job Adelyn!

The Big 2-7

Mom's how old?

We like to party!

Happy birthday to me! I am officially in my "late 20's"-yikes. Probably time to retire that college ID. You know what they say though--life just keeps getting better, right! I got spoiled with a Caribou latte, shrimp scampi, tirimasu and coffee ice cream--many of my favorite things! Mmmmm. Ohh yeah, and hanging out with family was fun too--just kidding! I am blessed with an awesome, loving family that take great care of me. Thanks everyone, especially my hunky hubby! What a wonderful day :)
