Snuggle Time

I don't know who's luckier, Jon or these girls who have such an awesome dad...

Happy Easter weekend! Stacy, Nick, and Sis are in town so we are keeping entertained. We are going to attempt an Easter egg hunt (inside) for Adelyn tomorrow which will be fun. Off to the mall!

2 Week Check Up

All went well for Alyse's check up. She was back above her birth weight (despite the major diaper blow out in the waiting room) so we don't have to bring her in again until 2 months. The doctor said she is perfect! We asked that they re-measure her height since we didn't think the hospital did a very accurate job and were curious to see if she was really only 21 inches. Apparently they don't normally check height again at the 2 wk appt since babies don't grow much in height that quickly. She measured at 22 1/4 inches today so chances are good that's closer to what she was when born.

Today's stats:
Weight 9 lbs 2 oz = 95th percentile
Head circumfrence 14 inches = 69th percentile

My Lucky Charms

Big Sis can't wait for Alyse to be old enough to push around in the basket

Happy St Patty's Day (a few days ago of course)

Yesterday was my 1st day alone w/ both girls and I'm here today to say we survived! Thank the good Lord for an incredible amount of patience He gave me yesterday as Adelyn was coming off a weekend of less then ideal sleep, which added to her lovely 'terrible two' moments. Aside from a disastrous nap time it was a great day. I even got some awesome snuggle time with both of my girls as we watched Curious George together. I truly feel blessed. Now lets just hope my almost 2 year old can start sleeping as well as her newborn sister.
PS...if Alyse hadn't passed her hearing screening I would seriously consider the possibility that she is deaf...sleeping through a crying sister and barking dog. I don't know how she does it!

Go Gophers!

We brought the girls to their 1st Women's Gopher hockey game last night. It seemed to be an appropriate introduction to the sport for Alyse. She snoozed thru the whole game while Adelyn cheered wildly. (I'm not kidding--she really was a great cheerleader!) It was a very fun outing.

At young 10 days old Alyse continues to be sweet while her big sister has been very loving. We tried to get the girls to pose with the Easter Bunny but only Alyse was a willing participant. Adelyn wanted nothing to do with him. It is still a very cute photo! With Jon having the past few days off from work we have been able to break out the double stroller and hit up a few favorite spots. Keeping with tradition Alyse's 1st trip was to Costco :)

More Photos of the Girls

Not a lot of time to write but here are some more photos. We are doing great and spending our days staring at Alyse in awe. Thanks to eveyone who has been helping us out and keeping us company!

This is how Alyse spends most of her time

Sisters! Adelyn's wish came true.

Of course the big sister must learn to drive

Party!

Anticipating New Baby

As the due date rapidly approaches we are consumed with prepping and thinking about the arrival of our new baby! The official due date is the 16th but the baby has been showing strong signs that they would like to make their grand appearance within the next few days. Of course since we are mentally prepared for it, it will be another week or two :) Either way we will be sure to keep you posted with the good news.

I finally got my 'nesting' energy and got the house whipped into shape today. (I took a personal day today.) All the while I was cleaning I knew something was up given the fact I had been staring at these projects from the couch for weeks wishing I had the energy to get them done. Suddenly I was wiping out the fridge, scrubbing the tub, etc. All of my errands got ran and I'm off to pack my bag. Man I am nervous but very excited as well! Stay tuned.
